Despite being one of the largest cities in the western hemisphere, Alko does not feature a primary university campus within its limits. Instead it has several satellite campuses, namely [[Pakola State University]] Alko, which is in Avondale. [[Emerald University]] also has a satellite campus in Marvern. None of the satellite campuses feature collegiate sports. The [[University of Pantoja]] has a small campus in Alko where they share buildings with Emerald.

Alko is home to two teams in the [[Torland Hockey League]], the [[Alko Wizards]], who play their games at the Misty Center, and the [[Alko Barbarians]], who play their home games at the Brimson Arena.

Several premier soccer clubs call Alko home, with Alko Town SC, Alko United SC, Misty City SC, and Sandy Pale SC all with home stadiums within city limits.
