The Barbarians play in a rougher more blue collar side of Alko and prefer a defensive-heavy style. ===== Team information ===== ==== Ownership ==== The Wizards are currently owned by Eric Barclay, who founded the team in 1983. Gary Wisniewski also owns a minority stake in the team as part of the ownership group presented to the league to gain approval for a new team. ==== Home ice ==== The Wizards play their home games at the Misty Center in Alko. ==== Logos and uniforms ==== The Wizards' colors are claret red, powder blue, and white. ==== Minor league affiliates ==== The Wizards are affiliated with the Schonhardt Supernovas of the West Coast Hockey League. ===== Players & personnel ===== ==== Current roster ==== ==== Team captains ==== * Chris Waterman, 1983-1989 * Wade Guerin, 1990-present ==== Staff and coaches ==== == Head coaches == ^ Name ^ Years Employed ^ Playoffs ^ Cups ^ Awards ^ == Assistant coaches == == General managers == * Gary Wisniewski, 1983-present ==== Drafts ===== ===== Seasons ===== ^ Season ^ GP ^ Record (W-T-L) ^ Points ^ Finish ^ Playoffs ^ | 1983 | 76 | 12-12-52 | 48 | 6th, Hatch | Missed playoffs | | 1984 | 76 | 15-9-52 | 54 | 6th, Hatch | Missed playoffs | | 1985 | 48 | 7-5-36 | 26 | 6th, Hatch | Missed playoffs | | 1986 | 76 | 17-17-42 | 68 | 6th, Hatch | Missed playoffs | | 1987 | 76 | 25-19-32 | 94 | 5th, Hatch | Missed playoffs | | 1988 | 76 | 40-13-23 | 133 | 1st, Hatch | Lost in quarter-finals (1-4 vs. Pioneers) | | 1989 | 76 | 40-16-20 | 136 | 1st, Hatch | //Lost Marcotte Cup (2-4 vs. Whales)// | | 1990 | 76 | 32-21-23 | 117 | 3rd, Hatch | Lost in quarter-finals (1-4 vs. Kings) | | 1991 | 76 | 34-11-31 | 113 | 3rd, Hatch | Lost in wild card round (2-3 vs. Snappers) | | 1992 | 76 | 33-17-26 | 116 | 5th, Hatch | Missed playoffs | | 1993 | 76 | 32-21-23 | 117 | 3rd, Hatch | Lost in quarter-finals (0-4 vs. Captains) | | 1994 | 76 | 31-14-31 | 107 | 5th, Hatch | Missed playoffs | ===== Team and league honors ===== ==== Banners and trophies ==== ^ Marcotte Cup ^ Louis Trophy ^ Division Title ^ | | | 1988 Hatch Division | | | | 1989 Hatch Division | ==== Retired numbers ==== ^ No. ^ Player ^ Position ^ Career ^ Retired ^ | 22* | Gary Wisniewski | C | 1975-1978 | 1983 | *Not officially retired, but out of circulation and officially honored in recognition of Wisniewski's career with the Alko Wildcats of the [[United Hockey Alliance]].
