The team was founded in 1979 by Conti as part of that year's league expansion. The Crusaders have not yet won the Marcotte Cup. ===== Team history ===== ===== Team culture ===== ==== Fan base ==== ==== Rivalries ==== === Kirkenport Captains === === Port Alrene Anchors === The two primary cities on Alrene Island have a somewhat brotherly rivalry, both being centers of nautical and fishing industries. Port Alrene is 10 times the size of Quebel though, so the folks of Quebel are definitely the little brothers and are prone to youngest sibling syndrome. ===== Team information ===== ==== Ownership ==== The Crusaders are currently owned by Andrew Conti, who founded the team in 1979. ==== Home ice ==== The Crusaders play their home games at the Alrene Athletics Arena in Quebel, Alrene Isles. Known as the "Triple A" or the "Rust Bucket", the Crusaders' home ice is a small building by league standards. It looks like an old warehouse near the Wharf District and was purposely given a rusty outer texture to blend in with the aging fish warehouses nearby. ==== Logos and uniforms ==== The Crusaders' colors are teal, red, and white. ==== Minor league affiliates ==== The Crusaders are affiliated with the Quebel Keystones of the Alrene Isles Hockey Association. ===== Players & personnel ===== ==== Current roster ==== ==== Team captains ==== * Robert Sudbrock, 1979-1985 * Joel Eklund, 1986-1993 * ?, 1994-present ==== Staff and coaches ==== == Head coaches == ^ Name ^ Years Employed ^ Playoffs ^ Cups ^ Awards ^ | Ted Wethers | 1979-present | 7 | 0 | 1985 Best Coach | == Assistant coaches == * Rick Heckman, 1979-present == General managers == * Ed Woodley, 1979-present Woodley was awarded Best GM in 1985. ==== Drafts ===== ===== Seasons ===== ^ Season ^ GP ^ Record (W-T-L) ^ Points ^ Finish ^ Playoffs ^ | 1979 | 72 | 13-13-46 | 52 | 8th, Willard | Missed playoffs | | 1980 | 76 | 21-16-39 | 79 | 5th, Elam | Missed playoffs | | 1981 | 76 | 23-19-34 | 88 | 5th, Elam | Missed playoffs | | 1982 | 76 | 22-21-33 | 87 | 5th, Elam | Missed playoffs | | 1983 | 76 | 39-14-23 | 131 | 1st, Elam | Lost in semi-finals (0-4 vs. Electrics) | | 1984 | 76 | 26-20-30 | 98 | 2nd, Elam | Lost in wild card round (1-3 vs. Killers) | | 1985 | 48 | 22-12-14 | 78 | 1st, Elam | Lost in quarter-finals (0-4 vs. Swans) | | 1986 | 76 | 28-19-29 | 103 | 2nd, Elam | Lost in wild card round (0-3 vs. Anchors) | | 1987 | 76 | 36-22-18 | 130 | 1st, Elam | Lost in quarter-finals (2-4 vs. Pioneers) | | 1988 | 76 | 35-15-26 | 120 | 1st, Elam | Lost in semi-finals (2-4 vs. Electrics) | | 1989 | 76 | 34-14-29 | 113 | 2nd, Elam | Lost in wild card round (1-3 vs. Kings) | | 1990 | 76 | 32-18-26 | 114 | 3rd, Elam | Missed playoffs | | 1991 | 76 | 28-22-26 | 106 | 3rd, Elam | Missed playoffs | | 1992 | 76 | 36-25-15 | 133 | 3rd, Willard | Lost in quarter-finals (1-4 vs. Kings) | | 1993 | 76 | 30-23-23 | 113 | 3rd, Willard | Missed playoffs | | 1994 | 76 | 37-21-18 | 132 | 2nd, Willard | Lost in quarter-finals (0-4 vs. Bucks) | ===== Team and league honors ===== ==== Banners and trophies ==== ^ Marcotte Cup ^ Louis Trophy ^ Division Title ^ | | | 1983 Elam Division | | | | 1985 Elam Division | | | | 1987 Elam Division | | | | 1988 Elam Division | ==== Retired numbers ==== The Crusaders have no retired numbers. ==== Hall of Famers ==== No Hall of Famers have played for or coached the Crusaders.
