Alko is the largest city and metropolis in the state of Pakola and Torland. Alko is a sprawling metropolis of more than 12 million people.

Built at the confluence of the Misty and the Sandy Pale rivers, the city of Alko is a modern giant of urban sprawl with ever-expanding boundaries and drastic changes in wealth and culture in every neighborhood.

Despite being one of the largest cities in the western hemisphere, Alko does not feature a primary university campus within its limits. Instead it has several satellite campuses, namely Pakola State University Alko, which is in Avondale. Emerald University also has a satellite campus in Marvern. None of the satellite campuses feature collegiate sports. The University of Pantoja has a small campus in Alko where they share buildings with Emerald.

Alko is home to two teams in the Torland Hockey League, the Alko Wizards, who play their games at the Misty Center, and the Alko Barbarians, who play their home games at the Brimson Arena.

Several premier soccer clubs call Alko home, with Alko Town SC, Alko United SC, Misty City SC, and Sandy Pale SC all with home stadiums within city limits.
