The United Hockey Alliance was a professional hockey league formed in 1975 by Barry Boyle based in Torland. The UHA was short-lived, only lasting five seasons, but it had a significant impact on professional hockey in Torland. The league was started with a group of players who defected to the UHA from the Torland Hockey League for better pay. Money troubles beset the league from the outset, however, as competing with the THL proved to be difficult.
